1-on-1 midlife coaching:
deep reflection and direction
for the next chapter of your life
Spark Sessions are ideal if you want clarity on a specific question or decision.
1-on-1 midlife coaching goes further. It gives you the time and structure to explore the bigger themes that arise during a midlife transition: direction, identity, work, priorities and contribution.
As a midlife coach, I work with people in their 40s and 50s who want to reflect more deliberately on where they are today and what they want the next chapter of their life to look like.
Through a series of focused conversations, we unpack the questions that keep resurfacing and translate them into clear choices for the years ahead.
Take time to think about your life properly
Midlife is often a demanding phase of life.
Careers are established, responsibilities are high, and decisions carry more weight than they used to.
Yet very few people take the time to step back and reflect on what they actually want from the next stage of their life or career.
That is where midlife coaching can make a real difference.
1-on-1 coaching creates space for thoughtful reflection on questions such as direction, priorities, values and personal ambitions. Structured conversations will help you understand what has shifted and what that means for your future.
Questions that often emerge in your 40s and 50s
Many people reach a point where the choices that once made sense no longer feel as natural as they used to.
Common midlife questions include:
- Is my career still aligned with who I have become?
- Do I want to continue on this path, or change direction?
- What matters most to me at this stage of life?
- How do I balance work, family responsibilities and personal ambitions?
- What kind of impact or contribution do I want to make going forward?
- How do I navigate a midlife transition without losing stability?
These questions are a natural part of life in your 40s and 50s. They simply require time, reflection and the right conversation.
Before you quit your job. Or retrain. Or start that business idea that’s been hovering in the back of your head.
Just pause for a moment.
Most people I work with are not stuck because they lack options. They’re stuck because they haven’t looked a the situation clearly.
That’s why I put together 15 questions for people aged 40+ about work.
I use these with my own coachees, because they help to surface things people have been avoiding, postponing or hoping would solve themselves.
Would the child that you once were be inspired by the person you have become?

What a 1-on-1 coaching journey looks like
A coaching journey unfolds over a series of structured conversations.
Together we explore the questions that matter most to you, identify patterns that may be shaping your decisions, and translate insights into concrete next steps.
Many people begin with a trajectory of six coaching sessions of 90 minutes each, after which we evaluate whether additional sessions would be useful.
The focus always depends on your situation. Some clients explore career direction in midlife, others focus on identity, values, priorities or navigating a life transition.
How I work as a midlife coach
My approach combines midlife coaching, reflective frameworks and practical tools that help you think through complex life questions.
Before becoming a coach, I spent more than twenty years working in international brand strategy and research. That background shapes how I work today.
I tend to approach life questions in the same way I once approached strategic questions for organisations: by stepping back, identifying patterns and clarifying direction.
During our conversations I ask direct questions, challenge assumptions where necessary and help you translate insights into concrete choices.
Sessions take place online, allowing clients from across Belgium and internationally to work with me. If you prefer meeting in person, you’re welcome to visit my practice in Leuven.
Between sessions you may receive short reflection exercises that help deepen the work we do together.
Is 1:1 midlife coaching right for you?
Life coaching in midlife tends to work best for people who are ready to reflect honestly on where they are today and what they want the coming years to look like.
If you recognise yourself in the questions on this page, a coaching journey can help you approach them deliberately rather than letting them remain in the background.
Some people start with a Spark Session to explore a specific question. Others choose a longer coaching journey to work through deeper themes over time.
