Midlife coaching in Belgium (Leuven) or online
Something's shifted. You're just not sure what.
As a midlife coaching practice in Belgium (based in Leuven), I offer a structured process that helps people in their 40s and 50s figure out what has actually shifted and what they want to do about it.
Maybe the job that used to energise you now just doesn’t.
Maybe something happened —a birthday, a redundancy, a relationship, a health scare— and suddenly the life you’ve built feels like it needs rethinking.
Maybe nothing dramatic happened at all. You just woke up one day and realised you’ve been going through the motions for longer than you’d like to admit.
Whatever brought you here, you’re in the right place.
Questions midlifers struggle with
01
Finding direction in work or in life
You know what you don’t want.
Figuring out what you actually do want is harder than it sounds, especially when you’ve spent years focused on what you’re supposed to want.
02
Knowing who you are now
Set aside the roles for a moment – parent, partner, colleague.
Who are you underneath all of that? What actually drives you?
And what do you value now, at this stage of life?
03
Navigating change
A job loss. A divorce. The kids leaving home. A health wake-up call.
Some transitions arrive whether you’re ready or not.
Coaching helps you process them deliberately rather than just survive them.
04
Contribution & legacy
At some point the question shifts from what do I want to achieve to how do I want to matter.
What kind of mark do you want to leave at work, at home, in the world?
Change doesn’t happen by thinking about it. It happens by working through it.
How I work as a midlife coach
Direct and structured. No vague theory.
STEP 1: We figure out what’s actually going on instead of what feels wrong on the surface.
STEP 2: We work out what you want, what’s in the way and what the next steps actually look like.
Sessions are online or in person in Leuven, Belgium. Everything is tailored to you.

In my workshops, you’ll actively engage: no passive listening, but testing, trying and discovering for yourself. You’ll gain tools and insights you can immediately apply in your daily life.
I regularly organise workshops and masterclasses around midlife, work and professional identity, but also around topics such as ikigai and values.

Hi, I'm Tamara!
I spent 25 years in international brand strategy and research. I’ve built businesses, led teams and worked across multiple countries.
At 44, I hit my own version of what many of my clients describe. I didn’t know what I wanted. I just knew it wasn’t what I had. So I went back to study.
That experience is why I do this work. I’ve been there: the uncertainty, the sense that something needs to change but you can’t quite put your finger on what, the pressure of having responsibilities while also feeling like you’re at a crossroads.
I know what it takes to think clearly about that. And I know how to help other people do the same.
My focus is on midlife questions around identity, direction, impact and contribution.
I work with people in their 40s and 50s in English and Dutch. In person in Leuven and online across Belgium, Europe and beyond.
Alongside my coaching work, I founded Midlife Crossroads Academy, where I translate these ideas into practical frameworks and programmes.
My approach is practical, structured and honest. No vague advice. Just clear insights and tools that help you move forward with confidence.
What is it like to work with me?
I’m direct, engaged and practical. I don’t beat around the bush. Sometimes that means a dose of tough love. I call it ‘doing what works’ and giving you exactly what helps you move forward.
This is what my clients say about me:
Before you make a big decision - read this first.
Most people I work with aren’t stuck because they lack options. They’re stuck because they haven’t looked at the situation clearly yet.
Before you quit. Or retrain. Or start that business idea that’s been hovering in the back of your head.
Just pause long enough to ask the right questions.
I put together 15 of them.
The same questions I use with my own clients, because they surface what people have been avoiding, postponing or hoping would resolve itself.
Frequently asked questions about midlife coaching
What is midlife?
Midlife is often seen as the phase of life between 40 and 60, but it’s not just a number. Midlife begins when you start asking yourself, “Is this really the life I want to keep living?” People often describe it as suddenly “waking up to my own life.” For some, this happens around 35, for others not until around 60. During this period, typical midlife questions arise: Which choices are still meaningful? How do I find fulfillment and direction? How do I cope with changes in work, family, or relationships?
Midlife is the stage in our lives where we replace the person we were with the person we want to be. This requires self-examination, authenticity, and the courage to take a new direction.
Today, experts say that midlife can begin as early as 35 and easily extend into your 70s. Midlife only ends when you stop questioning, growing, and developing yourself. And if you’re reading this, it’s clear that your growth path is far from over.
What is a midlife crisis?
Midlife itself is simply a phase of life filled with questions: about your choices, your direction, what you truly value. It’s often accompanied by unrest, doubt, or emptiness. This is normal, and almost everyone experiences it.
A midlife crisis only occurs when you ignore these signals and remain stuck. The anxiety is too intense, the doubts too great, and the emptiness too deep. What used to come naturally no longer works. Sometimes this leads to impulsive decisions or a sudden change of course.

What is midlife coaching?
Midlife coaching helps people in their 40s and 50s rethink what they want the next chapter of their work and life to look like.
Many midlifers reach a point where the roles and goals that once made sense no longer fully fit who they have become.
Coaching provides the space and structure to reflect on identity, career choice, priorities and direction, and to translate those insights into concrete next steps.
What kind of questions can midlife coaching help with?
Typical themes include:
- questioning your direction at work or in life
- wanting more meaning or impact in what you do
- navigating career or life transitions
- rediscovering motivation and energy
- deciding what the next chapter of your life should look like
These questions are normal in midlife. Coaching helps you approach them deliberately rather than drifting or postponing decisions.
What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy both focus on your personal development by holding conversations with you in a safe, professional, and supportive, judgment-free environment. You will be listened to and asked probing questions. Both a coach and a therapist will focus on your core beliefs, help you shift your perspective, and find answers to your questions yourself.
Coaching focuses on growth and looking ahead: what do you want now and how will you get there?
A midlife coach doesn’t focus on diagnoses and the past, but on change, personal growth, maximising awareness of your own thoughts and actions, and taking concrete steps in your life. You’ll develop a greater understanding of your own situation and circumstances.
Therapy often focuses on processing a traumatic event from the past or dealing with psychological complaints. If deeper psychological support is needed, therapy may be the more appropriate route.
How long does a coaching journey typically last?
Some people come for a Spark Session to explore one specific question or decision.
Others choose a longer coaching trajectory to work through bigger themes such as direction, purpose or career transitions.
The duration always depends on the questions you want to explore and the pace that works for you.
Typically, a midlife coaching programme is practical and results-oriented, lasting 6 to 8 sessions. We always start by clarifying your current situation and what you want to change. Then, we create a concrete action plan together. You’ll receive assignments, insights and tools you can apply immediately, ensuring you make progress with every session.
Is midlife coaching only about work?
Not necessarily.
Work often sits at the centre of midlife reflection because it takes up so much of our time and energy. But questions about identity, priorities and contribution or impact almost always touch other areas of life as well.
Coaching looks at the bigger picture so that the choices you make feel aligned and meaningful.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Coaching tends to work best for people who:
- feel a need for change or clarity
- are willing to reflect honestly on their situation
- want practical tools to move forward
If you recognise yourself in the questions described on this page, coaching can be a powerful way to gain direction and momentum.
Is coaching expensive?
Coaching isn’t a cost. It’s an investment in yourself. And it always pays off.
Investing in yourself pays off in so many ways: clarity, peace of mind, enjoyment of life, inspiration and new plans, and a desire to do things differently. You let go of what’s holding you back and finally choose what suits you. You simply give yourself more.
Creating a life that feels good on the inside is PRICELESS.
Are there workshops for mid-career career change?
Yes. And the most effective ones go beyond career planning frameworks.
The workshops I run with organisations help mid-career professionals clarify what drives them now, identify where the mismatch between identity and role is occurring, and develop practical strategies for realigning contribution. They work equally well as standalone sessions or as part of a broader coaching programme.
How do I realign my career if I feel stuck?
Feeling stuck is usually a signal that your current role and your current self are no longer a good fit, not that something is wrong with you.
Realigning starts with understanding what has actually changed: your values, your priorities, your sense of where you can contribute most meaningfully.
From there it’s a practical question of how to close that gap: whether through role redesign, a deliberate transition or a shift in how you’re showing up in the work you already have.
Coaching, workshops and structured frameworks make that process faster and more grounded than working through it alone.
What practical steps can I take to feel more purposeful at work?
Start by separating the feeling from the diagnosis. Lack of purpose at work after 40 is rarely about the work itself, it’s usually about the fit between the work and who you’ve become.
The practical steps follow from that: clarify what actually energises you now, identify where you can contribute in ways that feel meaningful rather than just competent, and create small deliberate changes to how your role is defined or performed.
A coaching conversation or a structured workshop can accelerate that process significantly.
