As a keynote speaker on employee engagement and mid-career disengagement, I work with leadership teams across Belgium and Europe who are losing experienced people and can’t quite explain why.
Most organisations invest heavily in developing early-career talent. Then somewhere around the twenty-year mark, that attention drops off.
That’s exactly when things get both interesting and complicated.
Experienced professionals start questioning their role, their direction, what they’re actually contributing. It doesn’t always look dramatic from the outside, but you might have noticed it before: motivation that’s gone flat, people starting to go through the motions, unexpected departures that nobody saw coming.
My goal isn’t to inspire. It’s to change how your leadership team reads the people in front of them.
I draw on research, my coaching practice, brand strategy and my own experience as a senior leader who went through this. Which means the people in the room tend to recognise what I’m describing in their teams.
