Midlife is the perfect time to refocus your energy, your dreams, and your direction.
As a midlife and ikigai coach, I help people in their 40s and 50s who feel stuck in their work, relationships, or life to figure out what they truly want next – and how to get there.
No vague advice, but clear insights and practical tools you can put into action right away. So you can move forward with confidence and fierce hunger for life.
Questions that midlifers struggle with
Finding direction, getting to know yourself, navigating major changes, or leaving a lasting legacy… These aren’t problems, but questions that almost everyone faces at this stage of life. Perhaps you’re struggling with them yourself.
01
Finding direction in career or life
Not sure which direction you want to go in work or in life, or feeling a bit lost? Finding direction is about purpose, satisfaction, goals, and that sense of purpose in your life.
You often know what you don’t want, but not what you do want.
02
Knowing who you are
Imagine: you set aside all your responsibilities and roles -mom or dad, partner, colleague, friend- what’s left? Who are you, really? Or have you lost something of yourself along the way?
And when was the last time you stopped to think about your values, your strengths and what really drives you?
03
Coping with changes
Major changes can be tough: children leaving home, retirement, ending caregiving duties, a career change, or divorce. Not everyone can handle these life transitions with equal ease. What do you need to better process such personal or professional transitions?
04
Leaving something behind
You want to make an impact, leave your mark. As soon as midlifers realize their time is limited, they start thinking about this.
What will your legacy be? How do you want people to remember you?
Do you recognize yourself in one or more of these questions? They often overlap. Direction, self-knowledge, change, and legacy constantly influence each other. You find yourself doubting, stuck, or procrastinating – it’s frustrating, right? Many midlifers describe that feeling as “empty,” “suffocated,” or “stuck in my life.”
The good news is that you don’t have to go through this alone. I’ll help you make choices that truly feel right, so you can create space for growth, freedom, and impact. Because you deserve it.
Before you quit your job. Or retrain. Or start that business idea that’s been hovering in the back of your head.
Just pause for a moment.
Most people I work with are not stuck because they lack options. They’re stuck because they haven’t looked a the situation clearly.
That’s why I put together 15 questions for people aged 40+ about work.
I use these with my own coachees, because they help to surface things people have been avoiding, postponing or hoping would solve themselves.
Midlife is when you reach the top of the ladder and discover it was leaning against the wrong wall.

How I help as a midlife coach
Stuck in choices? Ready to claim your future? Or do you finally want to know who you truly are? There are several ways to collaborate: personal coaching, online courses, workshops, or group programmes.
No empty theory or bullshit. Together, we’ll make it concrete, practical, and immediately applicable. You’ll gain insights that provide guidance and take steps that truly help you move forward.
Because let’s face it: if you do nothing, nothing changes. It’s time to reclaim your life.
Midlife coaching
For the man or woman who’s done hoping things will change, but instead takes charge, and says “yes” to themselves. It’s all about you. If you want personalized attention, someone to keep you focused, and take practical steps with you, midlife coaching is for you.
I offer “Spark Sessions,” which are short sessions for a quick boost. For a life question that requires more time, it’s best to choose a longer 1:1 midlife coaching program. This way, we work together step by step to achieve clarity, direction, and choices that are right for you.
All coaching sessions can be held online via Zoom or in person at my location in Kessel-Lo (Leuven).
Everything we do is 100% tailored to your life, your choices, and your pace. I’m here to guide you and ensure you actually do something with it.
Workshops
For those who don’t want just talk but do want to take action on their midlife questions. In my workshops, you’ll actively engage: no passive listening, but testing, trying, and discovering for yourself. You’ll gain tools and insights you can immediately apply in your daily life.
Whether it’s about rediscovering your passions, being a little less strict with yourself, or learning to live without that eternal perfectionist on your neck – here you will get fresh energy and a push in the back.
Online courses
For the independent thinker who prefers to go at their own pace. In my English-language programmes at Midlife Crossroads Academy (MCA), you’ll delve into themes like purpose, transformation, and midlife change. No dry material, just short modules that stimulate, challenge, and engage you.
Ideal if you want to experiment, discover and immediately apply it in your own life – wherever and whenever you want.
Hi, I'm Tamara!
For a long time, I struggled with the same questions midlifers often face. I felt dissatisfied and desperately needed a change. So often, I wondered if this was a midlife crisis (answer: absolutely not!).
It was the first time I truly began to delve into myself. For someone who had always lived in her head, it was a major confrontation – but also a kind of revelation. I discovered how wonderful it is to live from within yourself, and I want everyone to experience that feeling.
Officially, I am a certified life and ikigai coach, speaker and writer, and a mother and partner.
Unofficially, I’m a midlifer, bullshit killer, and problem solver.
I help people like you figure out what you truly need and how to take the right steps – without vagueness, but with focus, courage, and results. Because I know what it’s like to be stuck in doubts and questions that leave you with no way out.
What is it like to work with me?
I’m practical, friendly, and enthusiastic, but I don’t beat around the bush. Sometimes that means a dose of tough love. I call it doing what works – and giving you exactly what helps you move forward.

Frequently asked questions about midlife coaching
Doubts, questions, uncertainties: midlife often brings more questions than answers. How do you know if you’re in the middle of a midlife phase? What’s the difference between a midlife crisis and a normal phase of life? And how can a midlife coach truly help you move forward?
In this FAQ, you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about midlife, midlife crisis, personal coaching for 40- and 50-year-olds, and everything in between. This way, you’ll quickly gain insight, guidance, and practical tips – straight to the point.
What is midlife?
Midlife is often seen as the phase of life between 40 and 60, but it’s not just a number. Midlife begins when you start asking yourself, “Is this really the life I want to keep living?” People often describe it as suddenly “waking up to my own life.” For some, this happens around 35, for others not until around 60. During this period, typical midlife questions arise: Which choices are still meaningful? How do I find fulfillment and direction? How do I cope with changes in work, family, or relationships?
Midlife is the stage in our lives where we replace the person we were with the person we want to be. This requires self-examination, authenticity, and the courage to take a new direction.
Today, experts say that midlife can begin as early as 35 and easily extend into your 70s. Midlife only ends when you stop questioning, growing, and developing yourself. And if you’re reading this, it’s clear that your growth path is far from over.
What is a midlife crisis?
Midlife itself is simply a phase of life filled with questions: about your choices, your direction, what you truly value. It’s often accompanied by unrest, doubt, or emptiness. This is normal, and almost everyone experiences it.
A midlife crisis only occurs when you ignore these signals and remain stuck. The anxiety is too intense, the doubts too great, and the emptiness too deep. What used to come naturally no longer works. Sometimes this leads to impulsive decisions or a sudden change of course.

What does a midlife coach do?
A midlife coach helps you clarify what you do want in midlife and how to actually achieve it . No theoretical talk or vague nonsense.
We focus on questions specific to midlife: your direction in life, your identity, career choices, relationships, energy, and future plans. A little warning: the questions can be quite confronting. Or rather: uncomfortably exciting!
Together we’ll take concrete steps so you don’t keep doubting, but actually make progress. Tools, insights, and conversations you can immediately apply to your life. That’s what it’s all about.
What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy both focus on your personal development by holding conversations with you in a safe, professional, and supportive, judgment-free environment. You will be listened to and asked probing questions. Both a coach and a therapist will focus on your core beliefs, help you shift your perspective, and find answers to your questions yourself.
Therapy often focuses on processing a traumatic event from the past or dealing with psychological complaints.
Coaching is about growth and looking ahead: what do you want now and how will you get there?
A midlife coach doesn’t focus on diagnoses and the past, but on change, personal growth, maximising awareness of your own thoughts and actions, and taking concrete steps in your life. You’ll develop a greater understanding of your own situation and circumstances.
What's the typical length of a coaching journey?
Each journey is tailor-made. Because every coaching question is different.
A midlife coaching programme is practical and results-oriented, lasting 6 to 8 sessions. We always start by clarifying your current situation and what you want to change. Then, we create a concrete action plan together.
A coaching session typically lasts about 75 minutes. This session can take place in person in Kessel-Lo (Leuven) or online.
You’ll receive assignments, insights, and tools you can apply immediately, ensuring you make progress with every session. No isolated conversations, but action that truly delivers results.
Is coaching expensive?
Coaching isn’t a cost. It’s an investment in yourself. And it always pays off.
Investing in yourself pays off in so many ways: clarity, peace of mind, enjoyment of life, inspiration and new plans, and a desire to do things differently. You let go of what’s holding you back and finally choose what suits you. You simply give yourself more.
Creating a life that feels good on the inside is PRICELESS.
